Music Biz 101 & More: The Podcast With Special Guest Dr. Dave Demsey
Dave Demsey wails on either “The Star Spangled Banner” or “Body & Soul.” Either way, it was awesome. Just listen below and judge for yourself!

Music Biz 101 & More is the only radio show in America that focuses on the business side of the music & entertainment worlds.  Hosted by William Paterson University’s Dr. Stephen Marcone & Professor David Philp, the show airs each Wednesday at 8pm on WPSC-FM, Brave New Radio.  In this episode, Dave Demsey, Coordinator of the WPU Jazz Studies Program, plays his sax and the WPU Advanced Pop Ensemble sings their harmonies – LIVE!  (Well, this is a podcast, so it was live once…)

Student co-hosts Allison McKenzie (left – duh!) and Zach Matari talk Collage! on Music Biz 101 & More.

The whole purpose of this episode was to discuss how to promote an event with little to no budget.  The show in question was called Collage!, a “Best of the Best” event featuring William Paterson University students and faculty performing a non-stop, high-energy concert to raise money for WPU Music Department scholarships.

Look!  We just promoted it for nothing!  Nuttin’!!!

Listen to the performances.  Enjoy the chatter.  There’s a little something inside this show for everybody.  Just like with Collage! (look, we did it again!)

Let’s give a listen to the podcast now.  Our National Anthem begins at 2:12.  “Body & Soul” by Johnny Green begins at 21:45.  The Pop Music Ensemble performs “Poor Wayfaring Stranger” at 33:40 and “Home” at 36:37.  Here ’tis:
