WFDU’s Evan Toth.

Evan Toth is the host of Garden State Sound, which showcases the brilliance of the written song and the majesty of the timeless performance – both modern and classic – featuring the musical acts from the great state of New Jersey. Evan thrives on diverse playlists and contextual curve balls; he is always ready to provide some adventurously good listening.

Evan started his stint at the station serving as a copy editor, news and weatherman, host of The Front Porch and Crash on the Levee, and as a former university student of General Manager, Duff Sheffield. He knows what makes WFDU tick; the New Jersey nature of the station has clearly influenced Garden State Sound.

He is very attached to vinyl: “I believe that vinyl records are the best media to use on a good old radio program, I love that warm crackle!”

Outside of the station, Evan is a singer-songwriter and has dedicated the majority of his life to creating, performing, and listening to music with those nearest and dearest to him. In his weekly position as host of Garden State Sound on WFDU 89.1FM, he now shares some of his favorite NJ music with the worldwide audience on the internet.
