Come to the FREE Music Biz 101 & More Live event at William Paterson University Monday night beginning at 7pm. This event, put together by WP’s student-run MEO group (Music & Entertainment Organization), will feature 5 guests from the industry (look at the image below for the full list and event location).
MEO president Joelle Fillipe says the event will begin with networking for the first 90+ minutes. Each industry guest will sit at a table with a group of students and guests. Questions, answers, and candor will fill approximately 15 minutes of time before each group moves to another table, helmed by one of the other guests.
At 9 PM, the co-hosts of the Music Biz 101 & More radio show/podcast, Dr. Stephen Marcone and Professor David Philp, will lead the panel in a discussion about events going on in the current music industry, from streaming royalties to internships. The audience will ask questions as well. The panel discussion will be recorded as a future Music Biz 101 & More radio show, which airs weekly on WPSC: Brave New Radio, and podcast, which is available on Stitcher, iTunes, and SoundCloud.
This free event is open to the public. If you’re interested in the biz and want to know how to break in, here’s your chance.
