Paul Sinclair, Head of Digital Strategy, Marketing, eCommerce and Product Development at Atlantic Records, has accepted the position of William Paterson University’s Visiting Resident Expert for the 2014-2015 school year.
A graduate of both Albright College (BS, Business Administration) and Pennsylvania State University (MS, Information Science), Sinclair brings 14 years of music biz experience and a unique perspective about today’s music & entertainment industry.
He created the first fully realized, in-house interactive agency within a major record label. The team of 25+ is staffed with digital/social marketers, interactive designers and web developers, product development specialists, an audio engineer, content and editorial managers, and eCommerce marketers and merchandisers. Competing against digital agencies and tech startups, Sinclair’s team has been nominated for or won numerous technology and industry awards, including 2 Webbys, 2 NARM innovation awards, a WC3 award, and a Mashie.
Atlantic Records was recognized as the #1 label by market share 4 times from 2006 to 2012, and was the first major label to derive more than 50% of it’s revenue from digital sources.
Sinclair will visit the campus and interact directly with WP students to help provide a fully rounded education so they are prepared for an evolving music & entertainment industry.
